FFA Cancels Washington Leadership Conference
USAgNet - 03/05/2021

The National FFA Organization's board of directors has decided to forego its annual Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. this summer, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

State Relations Specialist Ben Meyer said in a letter to the associations across the country this week that this the decision was not made lightly.

"After careful review, we made the difficult decision to again cancel all sessions of the 2021," Meyer said. "We look forward to WLC returning in the summer of 2022."

Meanwhile, National FFA leadership expects to have a decision made by this spring in regards to its National Convention & Expo.

"We have received some questions as to when a decision will be made on whether convention will be fully virtual or conducted as a hybrid with a combination of in-person and virtual components," he said. "We are continuing to monitor the situation with the pandemic, national and local government regulations, and national and local health and safety guidelines. The health and safety of our stakeholders is our priority, and we expect to announce a final decision by late spring."

Last year's convention was held virtually for the first time in its nine decade history.
