ODA Partner Send Christmas Trees to Overseas Troops
USAgNet - 11/19/2018

Military units stationed overseas will receive more than 100 trees in celebration of the holiday season as a result of the Ohio Department of Agriculture's (ODA) partnership with the Ohio Christmas Tree Association (OCTA). The trees, donated by Christmas tree growers in Ohio, are inspected by department nursery inspectors to certify that they are free from pests and disease.

ODA nursery inspectors and OCTA members met in Reynoldsburg to prepare the trees for shipment.

OCTA has been delivering trees to troops stationed overseas since 1995. Growers have donated trees while local school children, churches and veteran's groups have been working on decorations so that the trees have everything needed to celebrate the holidays.
