Heavy Rain Delays Harvest in Some N.Y. Areas

New York had a good week for field activities with an average of 4.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 82° (F), a low of 29° (F) and a state average temperature of 60° (F). Weekly precipitation ranged from 0.33 to 3.89 inches.

Harvesting continues for corn silage, soybeans and apples; some areas have reported delayed harvest due to heavy rains.

Field activities for the week involved harvesting crops, planting of winter wheat, and fall tillage.
