Drought Conditions Hold Steady in New York
New York Ag Connection - 10/16/2018
New York averaged 3.5 days suitable for field work.
Warmer temperatures persisted, ranging from 4 degrees to 20 degrees above normal. Weekly precipitation ranged from 0.17 to 3.19.
Although drought conditions held steady in the far northeastern counties, excessive rains slowed progress in many parts of the state and concerns of prevented planting claims were expressed as operators looked to the potential for colder, wetter forecasts. That
said, some fruit producers were able to harvest and Long Island vineyards reported average to above average yields.
