NYS Corn and Soybean Harvests Progressing

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in New York, there were 4 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 4 percent very short, 8 percent short, 81 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 6 percent very short, 15 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 12 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain progressed to 72 percent, ahead of last year at 60 percent and the 5-year average of 66 percent.

Soybeans harvested were at 88 percent, ahead of 2019's pace of 86 percent.

Fall tillage was 78 percent complete.
