Stirling to Make Her Chevy Court Debut at State Fair

Acclaimed electric violinist Lindsey Stirling will bring her energetic and innovative stage show to the 2019 Great New York State Fair. Her debut performance will take place Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. as part of the Chevrolet Music Festival at Chevy Court. All performances on Chevy Court are free with Fair admission.

"This is a very special performance on our calendar this year. Lindsey Stirling's wonderful music defies simple labels, but her dedication to music and dance during her shows is second to none. This will be one of the highlights of our season and fans of any kind of music should be here for this one-of-a-kind show," said Fair Director Troy Waffner.

More than two dozen shows by national touring groups will take place at Chevy Court and on the Experience Stage this year. Lindsey Stirling joins a growing roster of announced shows, which includes, on Chevy Court:

- Bad Company, 8 p.m., Aug. 21

- Dropkick Murphys, 8 p.m., Aug. 25

- Midland, 8 p.m., Aug. 26

- Why Don't We, 2 p.m., Aug. 29

And on the Experience Stage:

- Rick Springfield, 7 p.m., August 31

Over 13 days, the Chevrolet Music Festival at Chevy Court features 26 performances in diverse genres, most from national touring bands. National groups will also perform on the Experience Stage in the New York Experience festival ground. Chevrolet sponsors the performances on both stages.

Founded in 1841, the Great New York State Fair is America's third largest state fair. The fair showcases the best of New York agriculture and provides top-quality entertainment. The 2019 Fair runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 2. The New York State Fairgrounds is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year.

Stirling remains fearless enough to always dream big. Since the release of her 2012 self-titled debut, the electronic music impresario, violinist, dancer, and artist quietly and humbly became one of the 21st century's most innovative stars by clinging to her groundbreaking vision of cinematic violin-driven electronic music. After bowing at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Dance/Electronic Album Chart, holding #1 on the Classical Album Chart for 21 consecutive weeks, and receiving a Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Album, her sophomore opus "Shatter Me" not only garnered an RIAA Gold certification, but it ranked as the #2 Dance/Electronic Album and #1 Classical Album on Billboard's 2015 Year-End charts.

Attracting over 10 million subscribers and 2 billion-plus views on YouTube, in 2015 Forbes placed Lindsey at #4 on its yearly YouTube artists list, making her the highest-ranked female. Her headline tours have played to a cumulative audience of over 500,000 people worldwide, and her literary debut "The Only Pirate at the Party" -- co-written with her sister Brook S. Passey -- became a New York Times Bestseller.

Lindsey's third-studio album, "Brave Enough," debuted at #5 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart, went on to score the #1 spot on Billboard's year-end Top Dance/Electronic Album list and earned Stirling a 2017 Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Album. In 2017, Lindsey released her first ever holiday album titled "Warmer in the Winter." Featuring classic and original songs, the album went on to become the #1 new Christmas album of the year, ahead of pop music heavyweights such as Gwen Stefani and Sia. It was also the best-selling new holiday album and the best performing holiday album on Pandora with over 40 million spins. She re-released her top-selling Christmas album in 2018 with a few new songs as well as some Christmas classics.

She was also the runner-up on Season 25 of ABC's hit show "Dancing with the Stars" with her partner Mark Ballas. Stirling is the model of a modern independent recording artist, with a symbiotic relationship with her fans.
