Country Folks Farm Progress Show: Heritage & Innovation

On September 15 and 16, Central New York will come alive with the Country Folks Farm Progress Show, a celebration that harmonizes heritage and innovation. This exciting two-day event, hosted at Len-Lo Farms in Mohawk, NY, promises to be a vibrant gathering and trade show offering something for everyone, from rural landowners and homesteaders to large livestock operations and fruit and vegetable growers.

One of the highlights of the event will be the presence of Paris Reidhead, Field Crops Consultant for Country Folks, who will be available for interaction and consultation throughout Friday, September 15, and Saturday afternoon, September 16.

For the younger generation, Saturday, September 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., brings the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull competition. Sign-ups commence at 9:30 a.m., with participants categorized into age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-13. Additionally, a dedicated kids' tent will feature activities specially designed for the little ones.

Adult attendees with an interest in agricultural equipment should not miss the Used Equipment Corral, open on both days, where they can explore available options and potentially find excellent deals. Those looking to sell equipment can contact Fred Mang at fmang@leepub.com.

Benuel Fisher Auctions will host a small animal, pony, and riding horse auction on Saturday, starting at noon. They are currently accepting consignments of ponies, small ruminants, chickens, ducks, and exotic animals. Note that ponies and horses will require negative Coggins tests, while sheep and goats need ear tags.

Door prizes are up for grabs, featuring enticing items like a Stihl MS 291 mid-range chainsaw with an anti-vibration system, a Stihl FSA 57 battery-powered trimmer, and a Stihl BGA battery-powered leaf blower. For an extra chance to win, check out the show's Facebook page at tinyurl.com/CFFPShow.

The Farm Progress Show's food court will offer a mouthwatering array of options, including blooming onions, French fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, soft pretzels, breakfast sandwiches, hot sausage sandwiches, pizza, chicken barbecue, ice cream, and milkshakes. All food proceeds will benefit the Anabaptist Wellness Center.

Furthermore, money raised at the event will support the new Country Folks Agricultural & Horticultural Scholarship Fund. For more details on this significant initiative, contact Janet Stanley at janet.stanley@leepub.com or 518.673.0132.

With the return of school and the onset of harvest season, the Country Folks Farm Progress Show presents the ideal opportunity to find everything you need for the upcoming fall, winter, or spring. Don't miss out on this dynamic celebration of agriculture and innovation in Central New York.
