A free educational field day in Tully, New York, will give landowners and agricultural producers an opportunity to learn how distributed wind energy can support on-farm power generation and reduce energy costs.
The event will take place on September 12, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence Doody & Sons Farm.
Participants will tour an operating small-scale wind energy system and explore how distributed wind technology can be integrated into agricultural operations. The program will also highlight the benefits of combining wind and solar energy to diversify on-farm power production.
The Doody family, who have used wind and solar energy systems since 2013, will share their firsthand experiences, including lessons learned from more than a decade of operating renewable energy technologies on their farm.
Attendees will gain practical insights into system performance, energy savings, and long-term management considerations.
The event is designed for farmers, landowners, and others interested in renewable energy solutions. Registration is free, although advance registration is encouraged.
