Livestock producers and fair participants are invited to a hands-on educational opportunity during the Delaware County Fair from August 11-16, 2025. This event offers the chance to have your animals scored and weighed, while also learning how to evaluate them yourself.
Digital scales will be available to record animal weights, and adults can have their livestock assessed through body condition scoring (BCS). For meat animals, a degree of finish scoring will be offered to evaluate market readiness.
Participation is entirely voluntary, and scoring will take place at individual pens during designated walk-through times. Attendees should be present at their pens during these evaluations.
The event schedule includes:
Monday, August 11 at the Sheep Barn:
- 3:00 PM - Sheep BCS for adults and finish scoring for lambs
- 4:00 PM - Sheep and goat weighing
Tuesday, August 12, Goat Barn:
- 2:00-3:00 PM - Goat BCS for adults and finish scoring for kids
Wednesday, August 13, Manure Pad:
- 3:00-5:00 PM - Beef and dairy cattle weighing
Friday, August 14, Beef Barn:
- 2:00-3:00 PM - Beef cattle BCS and quality grading
