New York Groups Receive Dairy’s Foundation Grant Funding

By Blake Jackson

Organizations in New York are among those selected to receive grant funding from Dairy’s Foundation, supporting efforts that strengthen dairy communities nationwide. The grants are designed to advance education, workforce development, and public trust throughout the U.S. dairy sector.

Dairy’s Foundation is the only publicly held national foundation dedicated to supporting programs across the entire dairy food chain. Its mission focuses on preparing future dairy leaders, enhancing the skills of today’s dairy farmers, and reinforcing confidence between dairy producers and consumers through education and outreach initiatives.

Grants awarded in January 2026 will help fund a range of projects aligned with these goals. In New York, Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County in Canton will receive funding to purchase a life-size bovine injection simulator. The simulator will be used to train dairy and livestock producers, as well as youth, on proper injection methods and ear tagging techniques.

Instruction will be offered through multiple formats, including on-farm training, 4-H activities, youth workshops, and other educational programs.

“Organizations across the country are doing great work to build a stronger dairy community and build skills and expertise of dairy producers,” said Brian Forrest, dairy producer from Stratford, Wis., and chair of Dairy’s Foundation board of directors. “Dairy’s Foundation is proud to support these projects and the future of the dairy industry.”

The next grant application deadline is June 1, 2026. Additional details for applicants are available at www.DairyFoundation.org.
