Five weeks after the gates closed, The Great New York State Fair wrapped up another memorable season, welcoming nearly one million visitors in 2025. The 13-day celebration once again highlighted New York’s finest in agriculture, food, and entertainment.

“Since 1841, The Great New York State Fair has been a symbol of community, celebration, and agriculture,” said NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard A. Ball. “This year, it was inspiring to see fairgoers and honored guests alike recognizing that The Fair is fundamentally rooted in agriculture and showcases the best of New York State-all within an inclusive, diverse, and family-friendly environment.”

“Our 2025 stats tell stories of joy, discovery, and community," Fair Director Julie LaFave said. "Whether it’s the focus on food and agriculture, the roar of live concerts, or the amazing work of our partners, everyone plays a part in making this event legendary.”

The 2025 Fair drew an impressive 925,989 visitors, demonstrating its enduring popularity. Agriculture remained central, with 315 youth leaders participating in Agriculture Career Day-an 87% increase from 2024.

The Voice of the Farmer Garden, maintained by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County, donated over 700 pounds of fresh produce to Syracuse food pantries. The Dairy Cattle Birthing Center celebrated 29 new calves, marking more than 425 births since its inception.

Food lovers indulged in 293,285 cups of milk, with chocolate milk taking the lead, and enjoyed seven tons of Peachey’s doughnuts. The Maple Booth transformed syrup into thousands of sweet treats, while the new Cream Puff Stand became a fan favorite.

Music and entertainment thrived, with 41 major concerts, including Lil Jon, En Vogue, and Taylor Dayne. Jessie Murph and Shaggy drew record-breaking crowds of 49,000 and 48,000, respectively.

Technology also enhanced the experience, with over 38,000 app downloads and 7,200 subscribers to the new Fairgrounds Alert System Texts (FAST). Social media engagement surged, reaching 21.4 million views, a 260% increase.

Transportation saw growth as Centro provided 390,000 rides, up 18% from 2024.

The countdown is on The Great New York State Fair returns August 26, 2026, promising more excitement, food, and family fun.
