New York Wine Classic Awards Ceremony Set for August 10

The New York Wine & Grape Foundation (NYWGF) will host the 2026 New York Wine Classic Awards Ceremony on Monday, August 10, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. EST. The free virtual event is open to the public and will recognize the finest wines and wineries across New York State.

Returning for her third consecutive year as host, wine expert Wanda Mann, East Coast Editor of The SOMM Journal and founder of Wine With Wanda, will announce this year’s top honors.

Awards presented during the ceremony include the prestigious Governor’s Cup for Best Wine, Winery of the Year for the best overall performance, and Best in Category awards recognizing excellence across multiple wine styles.

For the fifth straight year, the competition has partnered with the Beverage Testing Institute (BevTest) to evaluate entries.

Its panel of experienced sommeliers, beverage directors, educators, and industry professionals judges wines submitted by wineries throughout New York, ensuring a trusted and respected evaluation process.

“The New York Wine Classic is one of the most important moments in our industry’s calendar, a celebration of the passion, innovation, and world-class quality that defines New York winemaking,” said Sam Filler, Executive Director of NYWGF.

“Each year, this competition reminds us just how much incredible wine is being made across our state. We invite you to join us on Monday, August 10th and discover what New York wine is all about.”

Wanda Mann also highlighted the significance of the event and the recognition it brings to the state’s wine industry.
