NY Wine Group Secures $629K to Expand Global Markets

By Blake Jackson

The New York Wine & Grape Foundation (NYWGF) has secured $629,205 in funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Market Access Program (MAP) for the 2026-2027 cycle.

Administered by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, this funding will support international marketing initiatives aimed at expanding the presence of New York wines in global markets.

NYWGF has collaborated with the MAP program since 1991, using the partnership to promote New York’s wine industry through trade outreach, educational efforts, market research, and targeted promotional campaigns.

These efforts have helped position New York wines as competitive offerings in key export markets while building long-term relationships with international buyers and media.

“Support from the USDA Market Access Program has been instrumental in establishing New York wines in key global markets,” said Sam Filler, Executive Director of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.

“This partnership has allowed us to introduce international buyers and consumers to the quality, diversity, and distinctive character of New York wines. Continued investment through MAP ensures that our wineries can remain competitive on the global stage while opening doors to new opportunities abroad.”

“New York wines have earned strong recognition internationally, and programs like MAP allow us to continue to build meaningful connections with buyers and trade professionals around the world,” said Kyle Anne Pallischeck, Director of Programs at NYWGF.

“This funding will help us continue expanding our presence in priority markets such as the Caribbean while also conducting research to evaluate potential new export opportunities in markets such as Mexico. Our goal is to ensure that New York wineries have the tools and market access they need to succeed globally.”

Through its New York Wines Export Program, NYWGF supports wineries in strengthening export readiness, enhancing international visibility, and developing lasting trade partnerships, while also boosting demand both abroad and at home.
