NYFVI Opens 2025 Grant Proposals for New York Farmers

NYFVI Opens 2025 Grant Proposals for New York Farmers

By Blake Jackson

The New York Farm Viability Institute (NYFVI) is inviting proposals for its upcoming funding cycle, supporting a broad range of projects aimed at strengthening the economic sustainability of New York farmers.

Through a competitive process, NYFVI funds initiatives across all commodity areas and for farms of all sizes, with the shared goal of enhancing profitability and long-term viability.

This year’s Request for Proposals (RFP) focuses on projects that help New York farmers improve operational practices, foster industry-wide innovation, incubate new ideas, enhance marketing and routes to market, and develop human capital.

Proposals should actively engage with New York farmers, addressing production challenges and opportunities, and include measurable outcomes and impacts to benefit the state’s agricultural sector.

Eligible applicants include for-profit and nonprofit farmer groups, researchers, educators, organizations, agencies, and businesses. Individual applicants are encouraged to collaborate with established organizations to strengthen their proposals.

The RFP opens on September 3, 2025, and closes on October 24, 2025. To support applicants, NYFVI will host webinars to review the application process through its new grant management platform:

  • Wednesday, September 17, at 12:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 25, at 9:00 am

Registrations for the webinars are available online, with links sent again the day prior to each session. The online application platform remains similar to last year’s system, and new users must first register to receive credentials.

For complete details and access to the full RFP, interested parties are encouraged to visit NYFVI’s official website.
