Dancehall icon Sean Paul will headline The Great New York State Fair this summer, marking the first concert announcement for the 2026 season. The Jamaican superstar will take the stage at Suburban Park on Thursday, August 27, at 8 p.m., delivering his first-ever performance at the Fair.

The announcement signals the start of what organizers say will be the most diverse musical lineup yet, with 41 national recording acts scheduled to perform when the Fair opens on August 26, 2026.

“We couldn’t be more excited to launch into 2026 with the news that Sean Paul is coming to Suburban Park. His vibrant energy and global appeal make him one of the most exciting performers to see live,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Sean Paul’s first-time Fair performance is sure to be a high-energy, unforgettable experience for fans and newcomers alike. We’re expecting a fantastic turnout for what promises to be a night of great music and thrilled to share that this is just the beginning — stay tuned for more exciting performer announcements to come!”

Sean Paul has spent more than 20 years at the top of the global music scene, earning international recognition for his signature dancehall sound. Known for chart-topping hits such as “Temperature,” “Gimme the Light,” “Baby Boy,” and “Breathe,” he has received multiple Grammy nominations and achieved worldwide success. His energetic performances and cross-genre collaborations have made him a staple at major festivals and concerts around the world.

The 2026 New York State Fair will run from Wednesday, August 26, through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. All concerts are included with admission, which will be available for purchase later this summer. Adult tickets are priced at $8, while children under 12 and adults 65 and older receive free admission.

As part of the Chevrolet Music Series, the Fair will host daily concerts at Chevy Court at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., along with nightly 8 p.m. shows at Suburban Park. Two special 9 p.m. performances are also planned. Concert schedules will continue to be updated on the Fair’s website.
