65 Percent of NYS Wheat Good to Excellent



According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in New York, there were 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 9 percent very short, 9 percent short, 73 percent adequate, and 9 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 9 percent very short, 8 percent short, 81 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus.

New York's fall tillage, at 84 percent complete this week, is ahead of both last year at 78 percent and the 5-year average of 75 percent.

Winter wheat condition is 8 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 20 percent good and 45 percent excellent.

New York pasture land is rated 6 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 63 percent good and 6 percent excellent.
