GRAMMY-winning artist Ashanti is set to headline the Suburban Park stage at the Great New York State Fair on Monday, August 31, at 8 p.m., delivering a night of classic R&B hits fans won’t want to miss.

The multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and actress rose to prominence in the early 2000s, becoming a defining voice of the era. Her debut album Ashanti launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned her a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

The record also secured a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the highest first-week sales by a female artist, with 503,000 copies sold.

Over the years, she has built a loyal global fan base with hit songs such as “Rock Wit U (Aww Baby),” “Foolish,” “Happy,” and “Baby,” along with collaborations like “Always on Time” and “What’s Luv?” In 2022, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, recognizing her lasting impact on the music industry.

“Ashanti helped define an era of R&B with songs that fans still love to sing along to today,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Her catalog of hits and magnetic stage presence make her a fantastic addition to this year’s entertainment lineup!”

The Great New York State Fair will run from Wednesday, August 26, through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. Concerts are included with admission, with tickets priced at $8 for adults, while children under 12 and seniors aged 65 and older can attend for free.

The 2026 Chevrolet Music Series will feature 41 national acts, including daily performances at Chevy Court and nightly headliners at Suburban Park, along with two special late-night shows.
