New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball, along with partners from the New York State Education Department, New York Farm Bureau, and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, will visit the Broome Agricultural Development Center, located at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County in Binghamton, on July 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. to conduct the second in a series of listening sessions to engage with and hear from constituents about the importance of the 2023 Farm Bill to New York State. Participants will have three minutes to speak during the session as time allows and are invited to RSVP for the session or submit written comments at FarmBill@agriculture.ny.gov.
New York State's series of Farm Bill Listening Sessions will inform the State's federal priorities for critical funding and policy changes in the areas of agriculture, nutrition, and the environment. Kicking off the listening session tour on July 18, Governor Kathy Hochul visited Bruno Farm in Suffolk County and held a roundtable session with stakeholders at Long Island Farm Brewery/Water Drinker Family Farm to hear from farmers about their successes and concerns. Additional dates and locations for listening tour sessions will be announced soon.
