NEW YORK STATE WEATHER

Hudson Estuary Trees for Tribs: Apply Now for Fall Plantings

Do you own or manage land along a stream? You can apply for free native plants to help reduce erosion and improve habitat along your stream.

Hudson Estuary Trees for Tribs offers free native trees and shrubs for planting along the tributary streams in the Hudson River Estuary watershed. If your project is selected, you must recruit volunteers for planting and maintain the site after the planting is complete. The DEC staff can help you with a planting plan and work with your volunteers.

The application deadline is Aug. 1 for a planting in fall, but applicants are strongly encouraged to apply before the deadline. Large sites will be given preference.

For more information or to download an application, please visit DEC's website at https://bit.ly/3bVGjZ3.
