The upcoming Swine Production Zoom Series offers a comprehensive learning opportunity for anyone interested in pig management and production. This series consists of five virtual sessions, each designed to provide practical knowledge and skills for effective swine operations. Individual sessions are priced at $10 each, or participants can register for all five sessions at a discounted rate of $40.
Sessions are scheduled on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The first session on February 5 will cover managing breeding and birthing in a pig operation. The February 19 session will focus on providing pigs with a balanced and nutritious diet to support growth and health. On March 5, participants will learn how to observe animals for signs of illness or injury and monitor their appetite to maintain herd health.
The March 19 session will address inspecting and pricing pigs for purchase, offering guidance on evaluating market-ready animals. The final session on April 2 will feature an informal discussion on temporary and permanent fencing and infrastructure necessary for a well-managed pig operation.
Pre-registration is required by February 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. A Zoom link will be sent before each session. For additional information, contact Ashley McFarland at 315-604-2156.
