Senator Lea Webb recently honored Moore Family Farms with the New York State Senate Empire Award, recognizing more than 50 years of dedication to agriculture, entrepreneurship, and community service in the Southern Tier.
The Empire Award celebrates businesses that demonstrate outstanding leadership, excellence, and long-term positive contributions to their communities.
Established in 1971 by Richard and Kay Moore, Moore Family Farms began as a modest Christmas tree operation and has since evolved into a thriving, multi-generational agricultural destination.
Under the guidance of Jason and Carrie Moore, the farm has expanded from a few acres of evergreens to a 50-acre property featuring a choose-and-cut tree farm, a pumpkin stand, a five-acre corn maze, and an array of family-friendly attractions that welcome visitors from across the region.
“We are deeply honored to receive the Empire Award from Senator Webb. Moore Family Farm has been a true labor of love built on family, community, and the joy of creating memories together. It’s incredibly rewarding to see families often multiple generations come out to enjoy the fresh air, laughter, and wide-open spaces.” Said Carrie Moore, Owner of Moore Family Farms.
“This recognition is a reflection of years of hard work, dedication, and the continued support of our community. Watching friends & families return each year to make new memories reminds us why we do what we do.”
“Moore Family Farms represents the very best of our region’s agricultural and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Senator Lea Webb. “For more than fifty years, this family has cultivated not only trees and crops, but connection, tradition, and community. Their hard work and commitment remind us how deeply small family farms are woven into the fabric of rural life in New York.”
Moore Family Farms continues to serve as a beloved gathering place, blending family fun with education about sustainable farming and local agriculture, while remaining committed to its core values of quality and stewardship.
