New York Council to Discuss Food Policy Access

New York Council to Discuss Food Policy Access

By Blake Jackson

The New York State Council on Hunger and Food Policy will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The session will be held both in person and virtually, offering public access and participation through a required registration process.

This Council brings together experts, stakeholders, and policymakers to guide New York’s food strategies. Their mission is to ensure residents have access to healthy, locally-produced food and to strengthen food security across the state.

The in-person meeting will be hosted at 10B Airline Drive in Albany, NY, in the Farmstead Conference Room. Those interested in attending virtually can register online at the official WebEx registration link: Meeting Registration. After registration, attendees will receive a confirmation email with access details.

All meeting materials will be made available in advance on the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets website. A recording of the session will also be posted online for those who cannot attend.

The Council provides vital input on hunger relief efforts, equitable food distribution, and ways to connect more New Yorkers with local food sources. This upcoming meeting is another step in improving statewide collaboration and action toward reducing hunger.
