New York Producers Win Big at GLINTCAP Cider Awards

New York cider producers earned national recognition at this year’s Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition (GLINTCAP), one of the most respected cider competitions worldwide.

The event brings together leading cider makers and a distinguished group of judges from across the United States and other countries to evaluate some of the industry’s finest products.

New York’s participation extended beyond the competition entries. Scott Ramsey, executive director of the New York Cider Association (NYCA), contributed as a competition steward, while NYCA representatives Adrian Luna and Ann Bliss were recognized for serving on the expert judging panel.

The strong performance of New York producers highlighted the state’s growing reputation for producing innovative, high-quality craft ciders. A variety of cider styles earned medals, reflecting the creativity, skill, and dedication of cider makers throughout the state.

• Runner-up: Angry Orchard Hard Cider Company

Best in Show Awards

• Fruit Cider – Sweet (104 entries): 3rd Place – Cranberry, Beak & Skiff Apple Farms
• Modern Cider – Sweet (51 entries): 2nd Place – Original, Beak & Skiff Apple Farms
• Fortified Cider (22 entries): 1st Place – Pommeau ’24, Seminary Hill Orchard & Cidery
• Low & No Alcohol Cider (10 entries): 1st Place – Clear View Rosé, Beak & Skiff Apple Farms

New York cideries collected awards across multiple categories, including heirloom, tannin-forward, modern, fruit, botanical, rosé, wood-aged, specialty, and fortified ciders.

Angry Orchard Hard Cider Company achieved several notable placements, earning medals for products such as Crisp Apple, Ice Cider, Pommeau, First Crush, and Pomme And Power.

Beak & Skiff Apple Farms also received recognition for Original, Cranberry, Honeycrisp, and Clear View Rosé.

Other New York producers, including Seminary Hill Orchard & Cidery, Black Diamond Farm, Pennings Farm Cidery, Uncommon Kin Cidery, Treasury Cider, and Idiot Brothers, also earned medals for their distinctive cider creations.

The results demonstrate the strength and diversity of New York’s craft cider industry and the commitment of local producers to quality, innovation, and excellence.
