New York State Fair Named Most Affordable in the Nation

By Blake Jackson

The Great New York State Fair is proud to be recognized as the most affordable state fair in the country, offering families and visitors a wide variety of budget-friendly options.

From discounted admission to special deals on food and rides, the Fair ensures everyone can enjoy the experience without overspending. Running from Opening Day on Wednesday, August 20, through Labor Day, Monday, September 1, the event puts a strong focus on value and accessibility.

“We want everyone to experience the joy of the Fair without worrying about the cost,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “We work closely with our partners to offer the most affordable prices and a variety of free entry days, making it easier than ever for families and individuals to enjoy all the fun, food, and entertainment our Fair has to offer."

The Great New York State Fair continues to offer the lowest admission prices nationwide. General tickets are just $8, while the Frequent Fairgoer pass covering all 13 days is available online for $25.70. Children 12 and under, as well as visitors aged 65 and older, receive free admission every day.

In addition, several Special Fair Days allow free entry for certain groups with valid ID. Highlights include Student Youth Day on August 21, Law Enforcement and State Parks Day on August 25, Fire, Rescue & EMS Day on August 26, Armed Forces Day on August 28, and Native Americans Day on August 29.

One admission ticket opens the door to a wide range of entertainment at no extra cost. Fairgoers can enjoy over a dozen ground acts, from cultural showcases and live demonstrations to animal displays, art exhibitions, and sporting events. Concerts featuring top performers and local talent are also included in the ticket price, giving visitors even more value.

Competitions, parades, and special ceremonies further add to the full-day experience, making each visit unique.

For full details on admissions and a daily schedule of events, visitors are encouraged to check the Fair’s official website.
