New York Wines Expand Export Program to Caribbean

New York Wines Expand Export Program to Caribbean

By Blake Jackson

The New York Wine & Grape Foundation (NYWGF) has announced the expansion of its Export Program to the Caribbean, marking a major milestone in its ongoing effort to bring New York wines to global audiences.

This development introduces the program’s sixth international market, joining Western Europe, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and Vietnam, and underscores NYWGF’s dedication to enhancing international recognition for New York’s high-quality wines.

Since its launch, the Export Program has played a pivotal role in helping New York wineries establish a presence in key international markets through education, trade connections, and collaborative promotions.

The Caribbean expansion taps into a region celebrated for its appreciation of quality, hospitality, and distinctive wine experiences values that strongly align with New York’s own winemaking culture.

To guide this new initiative, NYWGF has teamed up with Strategos Consulting Group, a leading marketing consultancy based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Founded in 2007, Strategos has nearly twenty years of experience advancing U.S. agricultural trade throughout the Caribbean.

The firm has successfully executed U.S. government initiatives and promoted American agricultural products using its deep regional knowledge, trusted partnerships, and data-driven approach to market development.

Strategos will spearhead efforts to introduce New York wines to Caribbean trade professionals, media, and consumers through targeted education, events, and strategic collaborations across key markets.

“The expansion of our Export Program to the Caribbean represents both a natural progression and a bold step forward for New York wines. As we continue to strengthen our presence globally, the Caribbean offers a dynamic and growing market that values craftsmanship, hospitality, and authenticity qualities that define New York’s wine regions," Sam Filler, Executive Director of NYWGF said.

"Partnering with Strategos allows us to amplify the visibility of our wineries while fostering meaningful trade connections that benefit the entire state. This initiative is another example of how strategic collaboration can drive shared success.”

“The Caribbean is a region where appreciation for quality and genuine experiences continues to grow. This initiative opens an exciting opportunity to connect that passion with the exceptional characteristics of New York wines," Fradbelin Hernandez, CEO of Strategos Consulting Group said.

"We’re honored to support this effort by bringing our regional expertise and strong industry relationships to ensure New York wines thrive across the Caribbean.”

This expansion highlights NYWGF’s long-term commitment to helping New York wineries compete successfully in global markets while promoting the state’s reputation for quality, innovation, and sustainability.
