New York wines expanding international marketing with $1M

By Blake Jackson

The New York Wine and Grape Foundation (NYWGF) has been awarded a $1 million grant in the second round of the Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP) to boost New York Wine export marketing efforts.

The funding will support NYWGF's efforts in promoting New York Wines in the Caribbean, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, and Western Europe from January 2025 through September 2030.

“We are deeply grateful to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and the USDA for awarding us a second RAPP grant of $1 million” said Sam Filler, NYWGF Executive Director. “This support, in addition to the $1.3 million awarded to our Export Program in 2024, underscores their belief in the effectiveness of our programming and ensures we can continue driving international success for New York Wines over the next five years.”

The new funds will allow NYWGF to expand existing activities in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Western Europe, and launch new initiatives in the Caribbean.

The expansion will include more tradeshows, consumer events, and social media campaigns to raise awareness and attract key trade, media, and consumers.

This grant strengthens the foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote New York Wines globally and enhance their presence in international markets. For more information, visit the New York Wines Export Program website.
