The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is hosting a Local Working Group meeting in Cortland County on August 6, 2024.
The session will take place from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Cortland Soil and Water Conservation District, located at 100 Grange Place, Cortland, NY 13045. This meeting is open to the public.
The purpose of the Local Working Group is to address and identify agricultural and natural resource issues within the community. Participants are encouraged to provide feedback and share insights on local concerns.
Attendees may include agricultural producers, nonindustrial private forestland owners, representatives from agricultural and environmental organizations, and officials from governmental agencies involved in environmental and conservation programs.
As a subcommittee of the NRCS State Technical Committee, the Local Working Group plays a critical role in shaping local natural resource priorities and influencing conservation activities related to the Farm Bill.
The input gathered during this meeting will be instrumental in guiding NRCS efforts and ensuring that conservation strategies effectively address the needs of the Cortland County community.
