The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is hosting a Local Working Group meeting for several New York counties, including Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester, Ulster, Orange, and Rockland.
This public meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Farm and Home Center, Conference Room A and B, located at 2715 Route 44, Millbrook, NY 12545.
The primary goal of this Local Working Group meeting is to address and identify local agricultural and natural resource issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback and share insights with the NRCS.
The meeting invites a diverse group of participants, including agricultural producers, owners of nonindustrial private forestland, representatives from agricultural and environmental organizations, and officials from governmental agencies involved in environmental, agricultural, or natural resource conservation efforts.
As subcommittees of the NRCS State Technical Committee, Local Working Groups play a crucial role in shaping recommendations for local natural resource priorities and Farm Bill program conservation activities. This meeting is an essential platform for gathering community input and improving conservation strategies in the region.
