New York State celebrates not only National Dairy Month in June but also the dedication and achievements of its dairy farmers. The New York Dairy of Distinction (DOD) program, established in 1983, recently announced its 2024 award recipients.
This prestigious recognition program acknowledges dairy farms that consistently demonstrate a commitment to excellence.
Qualifying farms must maintain a stellar record of milk shipment and achieve a score of 90 or above during annual evaluations conducted by county representatives.
The NY DOD program expresses its sincere appreciation to the American Dairy Association Northeast (ADANE) for their unwavering support.
Additionally, the program acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Cornell Cooperative Extension personnel across the state who volunteer their time and expertise to ensure the program's continued success.
The 2024 NY Dairy of Distinction Award recipients are:
- Palmer Farm (Madison County)
- Kolenda Farm (Lewis County)
- M & J Dairy L.L.C. (Allegany County)
- Dreamroad Jerseys L.L.C. (Fulton County)
- Oakridge View L.L.C. (Fulton County)
- Burchdale Farm (Washington County)
- Retso Holsteins (Rensselaer County)
