According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in New York, there were 5.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.
Topsoil moisture supplies were 13 percent very short, 57 percent short, 26 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 25 percent very short, 39 percent short, 35 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.
New York corn silking was at 92 percent while corn in the dough stage was 44 percent. Corn dented was reported at 6 percent.
Soybeans blooming reached 96 percent, ahead of the five-year average of 80 percent. Soybeans setting pods was reported at 79 percent. Soybeans fully podded was 8 percent.
The sweet corn harvest was 63 percent complete, nine percentage points ahead of the five-year average.
