On May 22, 2025, Hessian Hill Farm in Schoharie, New York, will host a practical and educational spring workshop focused on pasture evaluation and hay management.
Scheduled from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the event is organized by Cornell ProLivestock and promises a valuable learning experience for livestock producers and forage managers.
The workshop will feature two expert-led sessions. Jess Waltemyer, Small Ruminant Specialist with Cornell ProLivestock, will lead a discussion on pasture evaluation, offering insight into optimizing pasture performance for small livestock.
Dr. Adam Murray, Beef Specialist with Cornell ProLivestock, will guide the hay management session, helping attendees better understand quality control and storage strategies.
Participants will also benefit from a hands-on workshop component, giving them the opportunity to apply learned techniques directly in the field. Lunch will be provided during the event, making for a productive and enjoyable day on the farm.
