The Great New York State Fair 35 Things to Know


With just one week left until the start of the Great New York State Fair, the excitement is building up. The fair, scheduled from August 23 to September 4, promises a wide array of attractions, rides, concerts, and much more. To help you get the most out of your visit, here's a rundown of the key information, organized into different categories:

General Information & Admission:

Fair Hours: The fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day except for Labor Day (September 4), when it closes at 9 p.m.

Building Hours: Buildings are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Friday through Sunday).

Admission: General admission costs $6, while those 65 and older, as well as children aged 12 and under, get in for free.

Frequent Fairgoer Pass: A $20 pass is available for those planning to attend the fair for four or more days.
