2025 New York Wine Classic - Celebrating Top New York Wines

By Blake Jackson

The New York Wine & Grape Foundation is excited to announce the 2025 New York Wine Classic, a premier event celebrating the best of New York wines.

Now in its 39th year, this annual competition offers a platform for wineries to showcase their excellence to a global audience.

Open to all wine types, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and fortified, the 2025 competition anticipates over 600 entries from 100 wineries across New York State.

A panel of experienced wine professionals, including sommeliers, retailers, and educators, will conduct blind tastings to evaluate each entry.

Top wines will receive Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, as well as Best of Class, Governor’s Cup, and Winery of the Year awards.

Beyond a competition, the New York Wine Classic celebrates the state's winemaking heritage and vibrant industry. Winning wines will be featured in articles and virtual events throughout the year, highlighting the unique terroir and winemaking techniques of New York wines.

“Embarking on another year of excellence, we look forward to spotlighting the finest New York wines in this competition,” said Sam Filler, Executive Director of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation. “The New York Wine Classic highlights the dedication and passion that drives the winemaking community in New York. The winners will inevitably feature a remarkable selection of wines that reflect the rich tapestry of flavors and styles found in our state.”
