CCE is working to bring back a regional agricultural program to Yates County. The NWNY Dairy, Livestock, and Field Crops Team provides educational programs and individual assistance to farms in the western part of New York.
The team's specialists work with Cornell faculty and extension educators to provide service on a wide range of topics, including best management practices for dairy farms, livestock, hay, corn, wheat, and soybeans. The team also provides employee training and human resource facilitation in Spanish for dairy farms.
The team's educational and support venues range from individual farm management team meetings and troubleshooting to multi-day classroom and hands-on training, and from ongoing farmer group discussion meetings to thematic day-long symposia.
A Community Forum will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 2 p.m. at the Yates County Building Auditorium to learn more about the team and voice your support. The forum is free and open to the public.
