Taste New York online store expands with 100+ local products

By Blake Jackson

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets' Taste NY program announced the relaunch of their online store, ShopTasteNY.com. This revamped platform allows consumers to order New York-produced food, beverages, and gifts directly to their doorstep.

The website now boasts an expanded selection with over 100 items sourced from farms and businesses across the state.

This makes it easier than ever to support local producers while shopping for holiday meals and gifts. To celebrate the upcoming season, ShopTasteNY.com is offering special promotions:

  • 30% off everything: Black Friday (November 29) through Cyber Monday (December 2).
  • 25% off: Happy Holidays promotion (December 3-25). Orders must be placed by December 15 for guaranteed Christmas delivery.
  • 20% off: New Year New Vendors promotion (December 27 - January 4, 2025).

"The ShopTasteNY.com site is such a great way to support your local farmer and community businesses. You can find really fun, unique gifts on the site everything from homemade sauces and jellies to maple syrup that make perfect additions to your holiday meals or a thoughtful, specialized gift for a loved one," said State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball. "Now, with even more products available on the site and with the holidays fast approaching, there’s no better time to visit ShopTasteNY.com and explore what Taste NY has to offer.”

Launched in 2020, ShopTasteNY.com aims to support local agriculture by connecting producers with new consumers and increasing sales for local communities.

The revamped site offers several improvements for a better user experience:

  • Mobile-friendly design: Easier navigation and faster response times.
  • Accessibility features: Enhanced for wider user access.
  • Automated email notifications: Alerts for back-in-stock items, rewards, and other incentives.
  • Local pick-up option: Orders can be picked up at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County (CCE Sullivan) with notification upon order readiness.

The site offers a wide variety of products reflecting the diverse offerings across New York's regions, from honey and jams to goat milk soaps. Participating partners and products rotate to ensure a well-represented selection.

ShopTasteNY.com currently offers domestic shipping only, but they are exploring future international options.

The platform is operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County on behalf of Taste NY and the Department of Agriculture and Markets.
