Cornell Agriculture Marketing Research Program (CAMRP) and Cornell Cooperative Extension are offering a new two-part series of farm marketing workshops to assist farmers selling directly to consumers.
The series will focus on tools, resources, and strategies to help farmers market and price their products effectively for the 2025 market season.
The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Saratoga County office, located at 50 W High St # 1, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
This session is designed to provide valuable insights into farm marketing, specifically for livestock producers, but also for those involved in dairy, eggs, fruits, vegetables, and other products sold at farmers markets.
Part 1: Creating and Pricing Consumer-Friendly Meat with MeatSuite
This session introduces MeatSuite, a free online platform designed to help farmers sell meat directly to New York consumers.
The session will also cover strategies for making bulk meat sales more approachable, especially for first-time buyers.
A demonstration of MeatSuite's new Bundle Builder tool will show how farmers can create product bundles, use all of their cuts, and set profitable prices.
Part 2: Improving Farmers Market Sales with Data
The second session will focus on leveraging sales data from farmers’ markets, providing insight into how customer experiences and pricing affect market performance.
CAMRP’s price reports, based on research from the Cornell Farmers Market Research Project, will help farmers understand how to improve customer engagement, increase sales, and boost revenue. This session is applicable to producers of various farm products, including fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, and eggs.
The workshops are priced at $10 for participants and registration details can be found online. For more information, contact Rachel Moody at ram72@cornell.edu or Steve Hadcock at seh11@cornell.edu.
