Fruit growers and berry producers are invited to join the upcoming Tree Fruit and Small Fruit Twilight Meeting on Thursday, April 24, in Hilton, New York.
Hosted by Cornell specialists Anya Osatuke and Janet Van Zoeren, this informative event will focus on fruit and berry phenology, pest concerns, and management practices designed to support healthier, more productive crops.
This gathering is part of a monthly series aimed at helping farmers monitor seasonal changes in their fruit and berry plantings, improve pest scouting skills, and apply integrated pest management (IPM) solutions. Each meeting provides practical, hands-on knowledge for maintaining plant health throughout the growing season.
The series will run on the last Thursday of each month from April through July, with each session scheduled from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Attendees are encouraged to bring photos or samples of any pests they’ve encountered on their farms for discussion and advice.
Participants can also earn 1.5 DEC credits in categories 1a, 10, and 22, with sign-in beginning at 6:45 PM. The May 30 session will be held at Blue Barn Cidery, located at 928 Manitou Road in Hilton, NY. The event is free, with pizza and refreshments sponsored by Valent.
