The Great New York State Fair and Micron Technology, the only U.S.-based manufacturer of memory, are partnering to introduce an educational, interactive space at the fair. The space will be open to fairgoers on Opening Day, August 23, and will feature activities and exhibits that promote STEM education and agriculture.
The space will include a “Meet and Greet” component where visitors can connect with Micron team members and learn about Micron products, university programs, career pathways, and Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. The first 3,000 children to visit Micron at the Expo Building will receive a free STEM activity kit containing components and instructions to build their own LED light circuit.
The space will also feature a “Memory Race” where fairgoers can test their memories, computer skills, and reflexes by installing Micron memory modules into a motherboard. Fairgoers will also have an opportunity to try on a Micron cleanroom suit and pose with Micron’s robot dog.
