New York Crop Protection Workshop

New York Crop Protection Workshop

By Blake Jackson

A special informational meeting on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies will take place in Baldwinsville, New York, focusing on protecting corn and soybean seeds. This event is part of a statewide effort to provide important updates related to the Birds and Bees Protection Act, current research findings, and sustainable farming practices.

The meeting is designed for a wide audience, including growers, crop consultants, certified crop advisors, crop managers, industry representatives, and policymakers. It aims to improve awareness about pest control methods and environmental safety while supporting better decision-making in agriculture.

Participants will learn about advanced tools and techniques that improve crop protection. Topics will include the use of modern technologies like NEWA systems and drone demonstrations, which help monitor crop health efficiently. Experts will also discuss research findings about pest control methods and how new regulations, such as the neonicotinoid ban, may affect field crops in New York.

The meeting also provides an opportunity to understand pollinator safety and discuss sustainable practices that protect both crops and beneficial insects. An open forum will allow participants to ask questions and share ideas.

The event will be held on July 14, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The exact venue in Baldwinsville will be shared after registration. Participants can register through the link: https://cornell.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5jsBhrG4bs9zffg
