New York State Fair launches ticket promotion

By Blake Jackson

The 2025 Great New York State Fair is kicking off its Star-Spangled Savings ticket promotion just in time for summer. Governor Kathy Hochul announced the special sale, offering admission tickets for $6.28 each.

The cost includes the $6 base price plus small service and processing fees. This online-only offer runs through midnight on July 6, with each buyer limited to 12 tickets.

The Fair will take place from August 20 to September 1 at the New York State Fairgrounds. It is one of the most popular and affordable state fairs in the U.S., offering fun for families, friends, and tourists.

Regular-priced tickets ($8) will go on sale July 7. Admission is free for kids under 12 and seniors over 65.

Parking passes and Midway ride tickets will be sold separately at a later date.

The Fair features agriculture exhibits, thrilling rides, and concerts as part of the Chevrolet Music Series.

There will be 41 national artists performing this year, with daily shows at Chevy Court (1 p.m. and 6 p.m.) and Suburban Park (8 p.m.). Special 9 p.m. shows are planned for August 22 and 29.

Fair Director Julie LaFave said the lineup is better than ever, encouraging everyone to take advantage of the current discount. “The Fair is already the best entertainment bargain in New York and this sale makes it even better,” she noted.

“When it comes to showcasing New York agriculture, providing top-notch entertainment and food, and helping families make unforgettable memories, nothing rivals The Great New York State Fair,” said State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball.

Founded in 1841, the Fair continues to celebrate New York’s agricultural legacy while boosting Central New York’s economy through tourism. Updates and tickets are available on The Fair’s website and social media channels.
