The Calling will take the stage at The Great New York State Fair this summer, performing at Chevy Court on Thursday, August 27, at 1 p.m. The appearance comes as the band celebrates 25 years since the release of its breakthrough hit, “Wherever You Will Go.”
The Los Angeles-based rock group was formed in 1996 and gained worldwide attention with its 2001 debut album, Camino Palmero.
Fronted by vocalist Alex Band, the band became known for emotional ballads and melodic rock songs that defined much of the early 2000s music scene.
Their signature single, “Wherever You Will Go,” topped Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart for an extended run and remains one of the era’s most recognizable tracks.
The group continues to maintain a strong following, attracting millions of monthly listeners on streaming platforms and adult contemporary radio. Earlier this month, the band also released a new single titled “DUST.”
“The Calling created one of the most memorable rock anthems of the 2000s,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Their timeless sound and energetic live show make them a fantastic addition to this year’s concert lineup!”
The 2026 New York State Fair will begin on Wednesday, August 26, and continue through Labor Day on Monday, September 7. Admission includes access to all concerts. Adult tickets will cost $8, while children under 12 and adults age 65 and older can attend free of charge.
This year’s Chevrolet Music Series will feature 41 national recording acts performing across Chevy Court and Suburban Park throughout the event.
