New York Crop Conditions Mostly Good to Excellent

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in New York, there were 5.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 2 percent very short, 18 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 13 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 3 percent very short, 5 percent short, 80 percent adequate, and 12 percent surplus.

New York apple conditions were rated 16 percent poor, 17 percent fair, 57 percent good and 10 percent excellent.

The corn crop condition was 3 percent poor, 22 percent fair, 44 percent good and 31 percent excellent.

Soybeans were 1 percent poor, 16 percent fair, 53 percent good and 30 percent excellent.

The winter wheat crop was rated 4 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 24 percent fair, 24 percent good and 43 percent excellent.

New York pastures were 1 percent very poor, 2 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 53 percent good and 11 percent excellent.
