The Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition (FLIWC) has completed its 26th year, continuing its long-standing mission of recognizing excellence in wine and spirits while raising funds for Camp Good Days, a nonprofit organization that supports children, families, and adults affected by cancer or sickle cell anemia.
Widely recognized as one of the world’s largest charitable wine competitions, the annual event attracts entries from producers across the globe.
This year, approximately 1,100 wines and spirits were evaluated through a blind judging process conducted by a panel of industry professionals, including sommeliers, winemakers, wine writers, spirits judges, and educators.
“What makes the FLIWC so special is that it brings together excellence in the wine and spirits industry while supporting a cause that changes lives,” said Jamie Varble, Event Director of the FLIWC.
“Every entry, sponsorship, and volunteer contribution helps support the mission of Camp Good Days and allows us to continue providing free programs and services to those impacted by cancer or sickle cell anemia.”
To ensure impartiality, judges assessed entries based solely on varietal or blend information, without access to details such as origin, vintage, or price. Awards were presented according to quality and merit, with Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals recognizing excellence.
Double Gold medals were awarded when judges reached unanimous decisions, while the prestigious Platinum medal was reserved for entries demonstrating exceptional distinction during Best in Class evaluations.
The success of the competition will be celebrated at the 26th Annual Camp Good Days Wine & Spirits Auction Gala on October 30, 2026. Guests will have the opportunity to sample and bid on many of the competition’s award-winning wines and spirits during tastings and silent auctions.
