New York high school seniors graduating in 2025 and planning to pursue a career in agriculture can apply for the New York Farm Bureau’s Agricultural Youth Scholarship.
This scholarship provides financial support for college or advanced training in the skilled trades, helping students prepare for a future in the agricultural industry.
To apply, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a 2025 high school graduate continuing their education in agriculture, either through college or specialized training in skilled trades.
- Live or work on a farm or be involved in agriculture in any capacity.
- Have a Family Farm Bureau membership or Student Farm Bureau membership. Students can join for free through the link: www.nyfb.org/membership.
- Students under 18 must include the signature of a parent or legal guardian.
The application process is simple and done through the Review online platform. Students can start, stop, and edit their applications until the final deadline on April 1, 2025, at 11:59 pm.
The application will include responses to several questions and essay sections, each with a character count limit. After submitting, applicants will receive a summary page that can be printed to review their answers before final submission.
Applications will undergo a district-level competition. If no applicants meet the criteria for a district award, no winner will be selected for that district. District winners will receive a $250 award and a memento.
From the district winners, two state winners will be selected. The first-place winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship, while the second-place winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Winners will be announced by the end of May.
For further information, students can email proed@nyfb.org. Don’t miss this chance to earn support for your agricultural studies! Apply today before the April 1, 2025, deadline.
