Northern New York farmers - apply for research grants now

By Blake Jackson

Farmers in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties! The Northern New York Agricultural Development Program (NNYADP) is awarding grant funding for research projects in 2025.

This is your chance to secure funding for initiatives that can significantly benefit the region's agricultural industry.

NNYADP grants target projects that combine research with education and technical assistance programs, ensuring their impact reaches all six counties.

If you have an innovative project idea that aligns with these goals, don't miss this opportunity! Visit www.nnyagdev.org to access application forms and learn more about the program's specific requirements. The deadline to apply is October 30th, 2024, so get started on your proposal today.

NNYADP leverages the valuable expertise of over 80 regional farmers who volunteer their time to review grant proposals. These farmers represent diverse agricultural sectors, including dairy, field crops, maple production, and more.

Their evaluations and recommendations play a crucial role in the NNYADP farmer executive committee's final grant award decisions.

Funding for the NNYADP comes from the New York State Legislature and is administered by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

In 2025, the program will allocate $300,000 in small grants, providing a significant boost to support innovative agricultural research initiatives across Northern New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for farmers to contribute to the region's agricultural development and secure funding to bring their research ideas to life.
