The 2025 Spring Turn-Out event is scheduled for May 22 at Hessian Hill Farm in Schoharie, New York.

Hosted by the Capital Area Agriculture and Horticulture Program, the event will bring together livestock producers and farm professionals for an engaging and educational afternoon.

From 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., attendees will gain valuable knowledge from Cornell ProLivestock specialists. Jess Waltmyer, a small ruminant specialist, will lead a session on pasture evaluation.

Dr. Adam Murray, a beef specialist, will cover hay management strategies. A hands-on workshop will give participants practical experience with key management techniques.

Lunch will be provided to all registered attendees. The event is open to anyone interested in improving their pasture and forage operations ahead of the grazing season.

Registration is required and must be completed by May 15 at 5:00 p.m. Those interested can register online via the event link.

For questions or special accommodations, contact Ashley McFarland at 315-604-2156 or AM2876@cornell.edu, or Rachel Moody at 518-649-0267 or RAM72@cornell.edu.

Rachel Moody, one of the event hosts, shared, “It’s a great opportunity to connect with experts and prepare for a productive season.”

The 2025 Spring Turn-Out aims to equip producers with the tools and knowledge needed to support healthy livestock and forage systems.

Held at the scenic Hessian Hill Farm, the event combines technical learning with practical demonstrations in a friendly, farm-based setting.
