Karl Czymmek has been appointed as the Associate Director of Cornell PRO-DAIRY and also serves as a Dairy Climate Leadership specialist for the program. In this role, Czymmek will collaborate with Dr. Thomas Overton, the director, and PRO-DAIRY specialist Caroline Potter, contributing to overall program leadership and engaging with New York state agencies and stakeholders.
Overton expressed his delight with Czymmek's appointment, highlighting his extensive knowledge of the program and strong relationships with state agencies and dairy industry partners.
Czymmek brings over 20 years of experience in serving the New York dairy industry as a PRO-DAIRY nutrient management specialist, focusing on regulatory issues, environmental concerns, and nutrient management. With a background in production agriculture, agronomy, and law, Czymmek is eager to collaborate with Cornell colleagues and stakeholders across New York to support dairy farmers in achieving economic and environmental sustainability during times of change. PRO-DAIRY, recognized nationally for its extension and research contributions, has been a leader in serving dairy farms for over 30 years.
