The New York Produce Show and Conference (NYPS) wrapped up its 2024 event, celebrating significant growth and engagement. With nearly 4,000 attendees from over 1,000 companies, the event showcased the vibrant energy and passion of the produce industry. The theme, "Where Passion Becomes Action," will carry forward into the 2025 event, scheduled for December 2-4 in New York City. Organizers expect even larger participation, with details for exhibitors to be released soon.
“The energy and enthusiasm this year for our educational sessions, our receptions and our special events were as high as we’ve ever seen,” said Ken Whitacre, chief executive of Phoenix Media Network and publisher of Produce Business, one of the show’s two signature partners, along with the Eastern Produce Council. “Attendees truly embraced the ‘passion’ theme, and it showed. We are already preparing for 2025 and what we believe will be our most dynamic show yet.”
The event featured a wide array of activities, from the Rising Star Reception celebrating young leaders in the industry, to the Opening Cocktail Reception, which saw nearly 1,000 professionals networking and exchanging ideas. The Global Trade Symposium, with discussions on fresh produce imports from regions such as Mexico and Europe, and the Foundational Excellence program, focused on industry trends for those new to the sector, were among the highlights of the event.
The trade show floor at the Jacob Javits Convention Center hosted over 300 exhibitors, showcasing new products and services. Notable awards were presented, including the Joe Nucci Award to Ocean Mist Farms for innovation. The event also supported City Harvest, with 56 pallets of fresh produce donated to food pantries.
Industry professionals shared their passion for produce throughout the event, with stories of dedication, innovation, and overcoming challenges such as climate change and trade tariffs. The NYPS serves as a reminder of the power of passion in driving industry success and inspiring new generations of leaders in the fresh produce sector.
