The American Dairy Association North East is offering two scholarships for college students pursuing studies related to agriculture, dairy product marketing, dairy manufacturing, agricultural communications, journalism, or dairy nutrition. The deadline for applications is December 31.
The $500 Leo Briggs Memorial – ADA North East Scholarship is open to students from the association's region, which includes New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and northern Virginia. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership in dairy promotion.
The $1,000 Dawn Houppert Memorial – ADA North East Scholarship is available to current or former dairy ambassadors or dairy princesses from New York.
“These scholarships are an investment in the future of the dairy industry,” said New York dairy farmer and ADA North East President Audrey Donahoe. “We encourage current and former dairy promoters from within the region with an interest in the dairy industry or agriculture industries to apply.”
Applicants must submit their applications online, which should include an essay and a current college transcript. The application forms can be found on the American Dairy Association website under the “For Farmers/Scholarships and Grants” section.
