Grow your future - NY farm bureau scholarships bloom

By Blake Jackson

Calling all graduating New York high school seniors with a passion for agriculture! New York Farm Bureau's 2024 Agricultural Youth Scholarships are now open, offering financial support for your educational journey towards a rewarding career in agriculture.

Whether you dream of college campuses or skilled trade programs, these scholarships can help you sow the seeds of your future. Statewide winners can harvest a generous $3,000 to nourish their educational pursuits.

To qualify, you must be a New York Farm Bureau member (or have a family member who is) and demonstrate active involvement in agriculture, either through farm work, community engagement, or other related activities. Your online application will include an essay showcasing your commitment to the field.

District winners, chosen based on application evaluations, will each receive a $250 prize and automatically advance to compete for the two coveted state scholarships: $3,000 for the champion and $2,000 for the runner-up. Don't delay – applications close on March 11, 2024, and state winners will be announced by the end of May.

This scholarship program isn't just about financial aid; it's about recognizing and fueling the next generation of agricultural leaders. So, if you're passionate about growing a future in farming, education, research, or any other facet of agriculture, don't miss this opportunity!

For additional information or questions, email proed@nyfb.org or call the New York Farm Bureau office at 518-436-8495.
